Autonomous Driving Technologies for Logistics
To address social challenges in the logistics sector, we are developing technologies aimed at achieving Level 4 autonomous driving.
Due to the unique characteristics of heavy vehicles, the technical challenges in implementing autonomous driving are significantly greater than those for standard passenger cars.
Heavy vehicles require a broad detection range and
diverse sensors. Additionally, the cargo bed can
obstruct sensors, necessitating multiple communication
methods and careful sensor placement.
Due to the difficulty of performing rapid acceleration, deceleration, or sharp steering, heavy vehicles require information from farther ahead to ensure safe operation.
Heavy vehicles vary in axle number and arrangement, wheelbase length, body configuration, and cargo type, requiring control systems optimized for each specific specification.
