Tackling Japan’s “2024 Logistics Problem” with World-Class Technology

Robotruck is a startup aiming to solve Japan’s “2024 logistics problem” with cutting-edge autonomous truck technology.

Founder Nan Wu previously engaged in autonomous driving research at Waseda University, and in 2016 co-founded a U.S.-based startup, leading the development of the world’s first Level 4 autonomous heavy-duty truck and achieving a NASDAQ listing.

In April 2024, Wu established Robotruck in Japan. Leveraging proprietary AI algorithms and technology, the company was selected by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry for its “Mobility DX Autonomous Driving R&D Support Project,” successfully completing a 100 km Level 4-equivalent test run on the Shin-Tomei Expressway (Suruga Bay Numazu SA – Hamamatsu SA section) within its first year.

The company previously secured seed funding from UTokyo Innovation Platform Co., Ltd., followed by Pre-Series A funding from Globis Capital Partners Co., Ltd., ORIX Corporation, and others.

Together with Co-Founder and CEO Yusuke Haga, Robotruck aspires to become the leading force in truck autonomy in Japan, partnering with logistics ecosystem to solve critical industry challenges.
